
Dr. Emily Beagle
Dr. Emily Beagle is the Director of Decarbonization Pathways at Ideasmiths. She is also a Research Associate and Lecturer with the Webber Energy Group at the University of Texas at Austin. She holds joint appointments with the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering. In this role she works on research and communication on energy policy and pathways to decarbonization of the global energy system with a particular focus on the deployment and use of hydrogen to reduce emissions in the hard to abate sectors.
Prior to joining UT, Dr. Beagle was a senior associate with the Climate Aligned Industries program at RMI and led the policy work for the Green Hydrogen Catapult project. She was selected as an ASME/AAAS Science and Technology Policy Congressional Fellow in 2020 and served in the office of Senator Tina Smith. In this role, she analyzed and informed on the development of energy and environment policy, with a particular focus on the Senator's role on the Senate Democrats' Special Committee on the Climate Crisis and legislation for industrial decarbonization.
Dr. Beagle holds a B.S. in Energy Systems Engineering, and a B.S., M.S. and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
